Castling queenside

He lives in Israel. He has won 90% of his chess games. I’m playing him in the first round of an Internet tournament. I’m drinking heavily in the bar with my great friend and chess buddy Steve. We look at the chessboard on my iPhone. I have my choice of castling queenside or kingside. I am ahead in the game because of an unorthodox move he made in a variation of the Sicilian Najdorf opening, he playing black. I decide to castle queenside. I tell Steve, I always wanted try this. What I did not realize in my stupor is that he can mount a better attack against my king when it sits on the queenside. Oh well, I blew some other games while drinking that night and playing chess on the iPhone.

I’ve learned my lesson. About playing chess on the iPhone and drinking at the same time that is. From now on I’ll just make notes of my thoughts. Wait until morning and the bats have left the belfry. Then decide.
