Reticence: a list

Sunday morning: the New York Times Book Review section, coffee, cigarettes, my next chess move, the cadence of the prose I have been reading in Proust, the slight stuffiness of a mild cold in my head, the memories of Friday night, the Baroque music playing in the background, and the future with V form a mental collage where my mind’s eye flits from image to image. I want to say more about it all, but listing the contents of my mind seem sufficient to mark the day as one that began with contentment and awe at what happens. Should I ever happen upon this list again I might regret my reticence. However, I trust I will understand the code and recall the feeling of what happened.
