I cannot remember names today. No, really. I could not remember the name of the author of Dissemination even though I saw his face clearly under his thick white mane. I remember now: Jacques Derrida.

I think of a course of reading. Six of Plato’s dialogues: Paedrus, Symposium, Euthyphro, Apology, Crito, and Phaedo. The selections contained in Kaufmann’s From Dostoevsky to Sartre. Chekhov’s plays.

I am unmoored. Cast adrift today. It feels good.
